Ner Tamid Synagogue
Situated on the rim of a dramatic slope in the City of Poway, the Ner Tamid Synagogue creates a sense of pride in its congregation. The 20,000 square feet are divided among a dramatic sanctuary, multipurpose room, and library, welcoming lobby, classrooms and offices.
Each use is articulated to allow for the ease of phasing as well as effective circulation. Outdoor terraces at the rim afford a dramatic view to the mountains beyond.
Simple materials used in sensitive applications will create warmth and intimacy in this sacred space. Natural light is balanced and dramatic, reinforcing the overall special concepts.
Beginning with the site and extending throughout the design details of the synagogue, Ner Tamid is designed as an organic expression of faith and community.
