Green Village
MW Steele Group developed a plan for the redevelopment of four city blocks as a “Green Village,” with nearly two million square feet of mixed-use space on eight acres, and a goal of achieving a minimum LEED silver certification.
Green Village will form a new gateway to the northwestern edge of National City. The scale of development proposed ranges from three and four stories along the existing residential neighborhood to a thirty story tower in the northern corner, taking advantage of the site’s fantastic views of the bay and downtown San Diego.
The program for the site will create a balanced, sustainable, urban neighborhood that includes cultural and educational institutions; commercial office space; a market; community services; retail, restaurants and specialty shops; mass transit infrastructure; varied pedestrian open spaces; and 1,100 affordable and market rate residences that include condo flats, live/work lofts and rowhomes.
